Something wonderful happens when you finally ‘arrive’. When you are living as your truest, most authentic self, with people who nurture the best in you, and for whom, you bring out the best, as well.
You grow increasingly aware of the beauty in this world.
You stop to appreciate every detail of the fine moments in your life, and you experience far more fine days than ever before. Time slows down in those precious moments; and your senses soak everything in with uncanny clarity.
To those around me, I imagine I appear distracted. And I’ll admit, the more I focus on the experience of living, the less attention I pay to certain practical matters. But, it is a trade-off I’m willing to make. For the first time in my adult life, I’m not obsessing over the questions of why I’m here, what I’m meant to do with my life, or why I’ve not accomplished more. Instead, each morning when I rise, I am filled with a simple imperative: to be the best version of myself that I can be.
